Reciprocal Clubs

As a member of the Kelvin Club you are also a member of the broad community of members of private Clubs nationally, and internationally.

Kelvin members are welcomed as guests at private clubs across the world.   When travelling,  presentation of a letter of introduction from the Club office affords Kelvin members guest privileges and the distinction of entry into world-class Clubs, hotels, restaurants and golf courses, many of which are not accessible to the general public.

List of Reciprocal Clubs

For example . . .

The British Club, Singapore
The idea to build a British Club was first discussed nearly half a century ago. September 19, 1982 saw the turning point when a 100-year-lease for the Bukit Tinggi site was signed at the Swiss Club. It was at this time that the membership policy was formulated: The British Club would provide a gathering place, not only for the British and Commonwealth expatriates, but for all nationalities living on the island.
True to its objectives, today, the British Club set amidst the tropical splendour of Bukit Tinggi offers a wide range of facilities and activities while retaining a relaxing, family-oriented atmosphere.

Hawke’s Bay Club, Napier
The Hawke’s Bay Club offers reciprocal members accommodation and use of the Club’s facilities while providing a gateway to New Zealand’s premier wine region.
Hawke’s Bay has an international award winning reputation for both fine whites and reds. This tradition lives well in the Club renowned for having one of the finest selections of quality wines in the country. It is also recognised for its love of wine through the establishment of the first Penfolds Room outside Australia in the Club’s cellar.

The Club is well situated in the sunny climate of Napier City – a unique and pretty city reflected in its many pastel shaded Art Deco buildings and proud to bear the title ‘Art Deco Capital of the World’.

The Olympic Club, San Francisco
Founded in 1860, The Olympic Club is the oldest athletic club in the United States. Housed in the Club’s seven storey Post Street headquarters in San Francisco’s Union Square district, The Olympic Club offers a wide range of athletic, fitness, dining and social opportunities. Facilities include a 100-foot Olympic swimming pool, basketball court, aerobics studio, cardiofitness centre, weight room, steam, sauna and spa areas, squash courts, handball courts, track and rooftop sundeck. Dining opportunities include the Main Dining Room and the Grill Room. Meeting and banquet rooms host a variety of Club and member occasions.

Members of affiliated clubs may stay in The Olympic Club’s guest rooms and enjoy complete use of the Club’s Post Street facilities.

The Stephen’s Green Club, Dublin
Of the few ‘Gentlemen’s Clubs’ in Ireland, The Stephen’s Green is one of the most distinguished, offering an interesting and varied history.   Following a short period as a boarding house, the Union Club was established there in 1839 with Daniel O’Connell being a prominent member. Daniel O’Connell was popularly known in Ireland as ‘The Liberator’ because of his work for Catholic Emancipation and the repeal of the Act of Union with Great Britain. The Club was renamed The Stephen’s Green Club in 1840.
This fine old institution has for more than 150 years occupied a central position both geographically and socially in Irish life. The Stephen’s Green Club is, in effect, an extension of one’s home, offering unique surroundings to entertain your family and friends.
